Each week two 2-3 minute digital short episodes of OTT Sports Academy Fundamentals are released. Formatted for the TikTok generation, these are built to give students a sound understanding of the basic business principles of the sports industry, such as media rights fees, collective bargaining agreements, league promotion and relegation, data rights, RSNs, international governing bodies, and fan engagement. Topics cover North American, UK, and European professional and major amateur sports.

OTT Sports is a critically acclaimed digital short series in which Mark and Michael break down the biggest sports business topics from both sides of the Atlantic. Each five-minute episode does a rapid deep dive into a relevant issue that is shaping the sports industry in headline making, and sometimes much less obvious ways. One-two episodes are released each week, and combined with Academy Fundamentals episodes provide instructors a robust supplemental teaching tool – and round out the weekly assessment material.

Quizzes with answer keys will be sent to instructors each weekend of the semester covering Academy Fundamentals and OTT Sports episodes from the previous week.

On a fortnightly basis Mark and Michael will host an OTT Sports Academy Office Hours session on YouTube Live. In an ‘Ask Us Anything’ format Academy students will be able to discuss any of the Fundamentals or OTT Sports episodes or any other industry topic. Each episode of Office Hours we will select one instructor whose class is enrolled in Academy to join our hosts to lead the discussion.
